Within  A Few Days, After Bandit Went To His New Home, We Found Out He Ran Away And Was Lost. Since He Was Re-Homed In Our Neighborhood, We Searched For Him Morning, Noon And Night. Irrationally Searching The Streets By Car and Foot For This Dog; Two To Three Times A Day. Visiting Dog Pounds. Putting Up Flyers. It Was A Colder Start To November And Rain Fell More Heavily Last Year. It Felt Horrible.  I Imagined Him Cold, Wet And Hungry. Alone And Terrified. Or Worse. It’s Scary To Look Back At How Agonizing It Was For All Of Us. It Still Brings Tears To My Eyes. It Took A Week And A  Few False Alarms But I Finally Got The Call. The Poor Little Guy Was Found In A Yard On The Block Where His “New Home” Had Been. Somehow He Had Made His Way Back There. Exactly A Week Later He Made His Way Back To That Block. He Made It Back. He Survived. His “New Owner” Asked If I Would Be Giving Her Dog Back. Her Dog? She Lost Him Within A Week. She Hadn’t Looked For Him At All. Give HER Dog Back? I Still Remember Coming Home With My Little Bandito On My Lap. How Happy We Both Were. I’d Never Felt So Lucky In My Life.
